The Light Inside

Did you know that you have a special kind of magic inside you?

It’s not the kind of magic that turns pumpkins into carriages. It’s even more real than that. It’s the magic of light.

A long, long time ago, a very clever man named Nikola Tesla looked at the world and said, “Everything is light.” He saw that the same spark that dances in a lightning bolt also dances inside you and me. He believed we are all made of the same stardust and energy, humming with a quiet, incredible power.

But if we’re all made of this same light, why do we feel so different from each other?

Imagine for a moment that you are a beautiful, unique lantern. Your body is the glass and metal that everyone can see. But that’s not what makes you you.

Inside your lantern burns a bright, warm flame. This is your special light. Some people call it your spirit, your energy, your qi, or your prana. This is the real you—the loving, curious, and joyful light that never goes out.

Now, to keep this flame burning bright, it needs air. Every time you take a deep, calming breath, you are feeding your inner flame. You are giving it power!

But sometimes, worries can be like dust on the glass. Feeling angry or sad can be like a little door on the lantern closing, blocking the air. When this happens, our inner light might flicker. We might forget how bright and powerful we truly are.

This is what the old, wise stories from all around the world try to teach us. They give us simple tools to polish our lanterns and open the doors.

The wonderful secret is that we are all connected by this light. My lantern and your lantern are part of one giant, beautiful web of glittering lights. When you choose to make your light brighter, you make the whole world brighter for everyone else.

So what is the dream for us all? It’s simple.

Feed your flame. Clean your glass. Shine as brightly as you can.

Never, ever forget: Your light is powerful. Your light is important. And it is always there, waiting for you to let it shine.

Go be bright.
